Marathon Key Fishing Charter
Since our establishment in 1999, Ana Banana Fishing Company is on the water 300 days per year! We have a fleet of boats to fit almost everyone’s needs.
The lovely yellow Ana Banana boat is a 24 foot Hanson built in 2015 which accommodates up to 6 guests. It is very spacious with a beam 10 feet wide, which gives everyone onboard plenty of space. The Lowrance electronics will put you on the best fishing spots using a fishfinder, and you will be safe no matter where you go as it has a GPS, a radar and a VHF radio for communication with the Coast Guard. This attractive boat has a 2 seated tower with dual steering and dual controls, as well as a toilet in the center console – an essential when taking your kids out for a long time.
Since you will be fishing in the beautiful and clear warm waters of Florida, you will likely be catching lots of different species. In the extensive area of the Gulf of Mexico, you can catch Snapper and Tarpon on the inshore trips. If you decide to take a longer trip and venture further out on a nearshore trip you can catch Black Drum, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, and even some mighty Sharks.
The fishing technique mostly used is light spinning tackle, but heavy tackle is also available. Specialist techniques such as Bowfishing, Spearfishing, and Flounder Gigging can also be arranged with this accommodating captain. Fishing will mostly be done with very fresh live bait caught on the day including Sardines, Mullet and Blue Runners.
We start our morning studying tide charts, looking at radar weather, wind predictions wave height and direction, water temperature and water clarity, feeding times, Gulf Stream distance, moon phase and past years log book comparisons.
Whether you’re an avid angler or a fishing novice, we cater to all levels of expertise. Our team will guide you through the process, asking important questions to tailor your charter experience to your needs.
Our top priority is your safety and comfort, ensuring that you stay dry and enjoy a comfortable outing. We believe in communication and will be in touch before your scheduled charter day to ensure everyone is on the same page.
During your initial contact with us, we will typically ask you a series of questions such as:
*How many people?
*How many hours?
*Which boat?
*What’s your experience?
*What do you want to target?
*What is your budget?
To enhance your experience, most of our charters include a FIRST MATE, who is there to assist you with various tasks and ensure your needs are met. The first mate is on board to assure your safety, bait your hooks, net or gaff your fish, serve your needs, clean your fish etc. Our first mates work exclusively for tips. It’s customary to tip the first mate like a bar tender or restaurant server with 15% to 25% of the charter fee depending on how you liked the service.
We have a NO FISH, NO PAY policy, as our commitment to service and production has earned us a 5-star review average for over 20 years.
With our deep-rooted Florida Keys heritage and passion for what we do, we can’t wait to embark on a fishing adventure with you soon.
Thank you for choosing Ana Banana Fishing Company.
